There are just a few weeks left until Mother’s Day…stumped on what to get your mom, mother-in-law or the mother of your children this year? A locker may not be the first thing that comes to your mind, but check out our Mother's Day Gift Guide for some awesome ideas involving lockers that will help make life easier for the mothers in your life.
Laundry Room Lockers
Laundry may not necessarily be everyone’s favorite thing to do, but our storage lockers with cubbies can at least make the laundry room more organized and efficient—and what mom wouldn’t love that? Stash detergent, fabric softener, bleach, stain remover, etc. in the lower lockable compartment to keep those potentially hazardous items safe from little ones, and store extra towels, lint rollers, dryer sheets and more on the upper shelves. Laundry won’t seem like such a chore when you’ve got an organized space to work in!
Mud Room Lockers
Ask any mother you know, and we’re willing to bet that mud room storage/organization is on their wish list. Whether or not you have a formal mud room in your home, we have lockers that will fit most spaces near doors/entry areas. You can even place one for each member of the family in your garage to have a convenient place to store outerwear, boots, shoes, hats, backpacks and more! We have wooden mud lockers available, but our metal kids lockers are also a great (and more economical) option.
Craft Room Storage
Does the mother in your life love to craft? Then she needs a great place to store all of her crafting supplies. Basket lockers make a fun storage solution for ribbon, yarn, scrapbook supplies and more—plus we just think they’re pretty. ;) Our lockers with cubbies would also be a good choice for extra storage in a craft room because they feature cubby shelves that could accommodate bins to hold different craft supplies, in addition to a lockable compartment on the bottom for sharp scissors, needles and other items you don’t want curious little hands to find.
Homemade gifts are also sure to be winners on Mother’s Day. Rather than buying new lockers, why not bust out your DIY skills and turn a set of old lockers into something really fun? We have an entire division dedicated to selling old lockers that are just dying to be made over. Here are a couple of fun ideas we’ve rounded up--you’re welcome. ;)
Shoe Storage
Does your mom need extra storage to keep up with her shoe obsession? A locker is a fun way to keep all of those shoes out of sight. Check out this post from Apartment Therapy for some inspiration.
Wine Storage
If the mom in your life loves wine, why not gift her with a bottle for Mother's Day--along with a unique way to store all of her favorite kinds for the future? We think this upcycle from Design Improvised is such a fun way to use lockers!
Industrial Command/Mud Room Station
Every mom is happier when her home (and life!) is organized. This amazing locker system from Two Thirty-Five Designs is a great way to add a makeshift mud room/command center to any home!
Console Table
If there's one room in any house that could use extra storage, it's the kitchen. Why not surprise your mom with a unique console table made from a locker like this one from 17 Apart? Not only does it provide extra storage and display space, it also adds a fun industrial vibe. Win-win situation, people. :)
Bookcase
It seems like you can never have enough shelving or bookcases to store and display all of your favorite books, knicknacks and treasures. We love the idea of removing the upper shelves from a bank of lockers to create display space, like this beautiful piece from Caught in Grace!
