Why Would An NFL Quarterback Need Another Stadium Locker?

Meet Chris. He is a 49ers fan...big time.

Chris oversees our Internet orders here at SchoolLockers.com, where we specialize in providing new lockers for large projects such as football stadiums and also individual orders for people who are just looking for athletic lockers in general. Remember that, because it will make sense later on why we're talking about Chris.

Well earlier this year as Chris was still mourning the loss that his beloved team (the San Francisco 49ers) endured in the Superbowl, he received a phone call from one of our clients who had ordered a full-sized, blue stadium locker. In and of itself, that isn't a big deal since we sell literally tons of these each and every year...however this time around it was slightly different...

The client’s name was Philip Rivers. (NFL and sports fans; that should perk your ears up immediately)

Now if you still have a confused look on your face, relax because unless you live in California (or you just happen to be a big San Diego Chargers fan) that name may slip right on by you. You see Philip Rivers is in fact the star quarterback for the San Diego Chargers and was a first round draft pick in 2004. Rivers originally went to New York to play with the Giants, however was later traded to the Chargers where he has made quite a name for himself.

River's career highlights echo through NFL locker rooms. His passer rating is an astonishing 94.5--That makes him the sixth best all-time among NFL quarterbacks with at least 1,500 passing attempts. Rivers also has a career total of 13 Fourth Quarter Comebacks. Last season, Rivers started his 100th career game, which was also his 100th consecutive start. He also became seventh fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 25,000 career yards, among other pretty cool team records...We're just sayin' :)

Anyhow, Mr. Rivers was calling about the home delivery of his locker, which his wife had ordered online.  Knowing a thing or two about football and the NFL, it wasn't until Chris finally couldn't resist any longer and asked if in fact this was the very same Philip Rivers who holds quite a few Chargers franchise records such as; Most passing touchdowns in a single season (34 in 2008) Most consecutive seasons with at least 25 touchdowns (5 - 2008 through 2012) and the most consecutive seasons with 4,000 passing yards (4 - 2008 through 2011) just to name a few.

It was him.  How awesome is that?

(Chris agreed too--it was pretty cool.  Not too many times you can say you personally sold a gym locker to a current, record-holding, NFL quarterback.)

Since we figure since he already has a great stadium locker at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, we can only imagine the navy blue stadium locker he just bought is heading for use of an up-and-coming, younger Rivers who wants to play football like his father. Now we can't say for certain, however what are the odds--?

Now we have two sizes of stadium lockers--one is the smaller size which measures in at 18" wide, 15" deep and 54" high, but the one we sent the Rivers family measures in at 24" wide, 18" deep and 72" high--just like those sports lockers you see in the NFL.

By the way, whether or not you are a San Diego Chargers fan, you have to admire Philip Rivers' excellent tastes!

Now don't lose sleep for poor Chris and his beloved 49ers. There is always next season, and who knows? Perhaps this summer during our busy season we'll fill an order for Colin Kaepernick, and Chris will be able to perhaps give him some pointers...

(Just who is Kaepernick--?  Take a wild guess who he plays for and in what position...and by the way, you only get one guess!)
