San Francisco 49ers - 2014 NFL Playoff Team Fast Facts

Perhaps one of the oldest American football teams, the San Francisco 49ers has become literally one of the most beloved teams in the NFL today.  It began in 1949 when the NFL and the AAFC merged, agreeing to adopt teams in Baltimore, Cleveland and San Francisco as new franchises.  Interesting to point out that the team struggled its first season, winning only three games and were described as being "not big enough or tough enough."

Things have certainly changed.

Famed team members and Hall of Famers have included such greats as Leo Nomellini, John Brodie, Head Coach Bill Walsh, Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana, Steve Young and Jerry Rice; just to name a few.

The new Levis Stadium which opens in 2014 will have its own 49ers Hall of Fame--a 20,000 square foot facility which will utilize cutting-edge technology to bring the past to life for all visitors.  Having several multimedia stations, visitors will be able to take a journey back in time and see through the franchise's remarkable history.
